If you're a night owl or just an early riser, you'll love this little joint that serves up one of the best hot breakfasts on the Strand. Selections include near legendary pancakes, omelets, French toast, steak and eggs, and other good stuff.

This is a favorite for breakfast or lunch. They offer a wide selection of homemade breads, croissants, pastries and muffins that are simply out of this world! They also serve heartier dishes such as a fabulous souffle casserole with grits, eggs, cheese and ham, plus French toast and pancakes. For lunch you might try one of their hot sandwiches or specialty salads. And don't forget that this bakery is known for their heavenly desserts.

BAREFOOT. Among its many virtues ­ the beautiful setting on the Intracoastal Waterway, the awesome golf, the luxurious accommodations ­ the Barefoot Resort can take great pride in one thing in particular: Docksider's Grill. This casual spot delivers outstanding "Docktails," making it a great place to cool your heels after a day spent playing in the sun or shopping. In addition, the place also serves up all sorts of tasty eats, including baby-back ribs, lobster salad, crab cakes and oyster pie. All of that is trumped, though, by the view of the yachts and sailboats as they move toward and away from their slips.

The menu may not be extensive, but you can be sure that everything on it is a time-tested winner. Ham and eggs, steak and eggs, grits and eggs, pancakes and eggs, biscuits and gravy and eggs ­ well, you get the idea. There are also egg sandwiches and omelets, and when it gets to be lunch time you can order up a great burger and fries. Or you can just order some more eggs! Eggs Up is often packed to the gills, but the table turnover is quick, so don't get discouraged if there's a line out the door.

MYRTLE BEACH. A local favorite for a good hot breakfast at a reasonable price. Pancakes, of course, are the specialty, but don't miss their daily specials. A good family choice for 20+ years.
